UTennessee/Pi Kappa Alpha suspended after alleged alcohol enema incident

We have a new leader for the stupidest fraternity idea ever.

Several members of Pi Kappa Alpha, and the Zeta Chapter, at the University of Tennessee are under suspicion after one (apparent) member was dropped off at the UT Medical Center in the middle of the night. He had a BAC of over .40, and further investigation lead to the Pike house, and…

“After conducting several interviews, investigators determined the fraternity members had used rubber tubing to give each other alcohol enemas. Police said the practice heightens and speeds up the process of alcohol entering the blood stream because it bypasses the liver’s filters.” Story and video report from WBIR.com.

The chapter has been placed on administrative suspension by the International Fraternity and the University.

In 2008, the same chapter was in trouble for “a hazing incident where pledges were allegedly asked to do push-ups on broken glass. Three students were later hospitalized with staph infections.” 25 members were kicked out of Pike at the time.

Every fraternity brother in the country needs to recognize that your reputation is being tarnished by this behavior. Somebody’s fraternity brother thought this was a good idea. (And the alcohol enema wasn’t the only stupid idea, they dumped the guy at the Emergency Room by himself!) You are your brother’s keeper, act like it.
