A couple of brief items: Georgia Tech/ATO, Nevada-Reno/Lambda Chi

As we approach Thanksgiving, there is not much in the news this week.

Georgia Tech/Alpha Tau Omega(midtown.patch.com) Georgia Tech has announced the interim suspension of its Alpha Tau Omega chapter for “allegations of undisclosed school student code of conduct violations.” We have had several articles recently that are about interim suspensions, this one actually does a good job of describing what that means. In many cases, the reporting overreacts to the situation under investigation.

Nevada-Reno/Lambda Chi AlphaThe Reno Gazette-Journal reports that the Lambda Chi Alpha chapter at UNR has been suspended by the national organization. Kolotv.com reports that the chapter has been under probation for alcohol concerns for some time, and the suspension was due to a failure to change that culture. You may recall that the Pi Beta Phi chapter at Reno is also under a short-term suspension for policy violations. There is no indication that these two situations are connected.
