Jezebel.com has published a detailed article on the “rumors about the horrific hazing at Young Harris College,” a small private college in North Georgia. YHC has primarily local fraternities and sororities, and while it was founded in 1866, it just transitioned to a four-year college five years ago.
The trigger for this story appears to be a lawsuit by a student who claims she was hazed in early 2012, and the dismissal of two faculty members who were involved with the school newspaper. The faculty members claim they were fired for supporting an investigative story on hazing that was censored by the college president. Courthouse News has a full description of the case filed in a story posted in March. A pdf file of the civil lawsuit can also be found online. 11alive.com (NBC affiliate in Atlanta) also has a story and video report on the issues at YHC.
